Features: The Great Yi is vast and profound, encompassing all things, with its main purpose being to reveal the great principles of heaven, earth, and humanity. In terms of righteousness and principle, the way of heaven is yin and yang, the way of earth is firmness and gentleness, and the way of humanity is benevolence and righteousness. In terms of the natural environment, what is called the way of heaven refers to the sun, moon, stars, and the alternation of seasons. What is called the way of earth refers to mountains, rivers, and the changes of wind and rain. What is called the way of humanity refers to the spirit and will, as well as the body and its physical form. According to the theories of Eastern and Western philosophies, it is universally recognized that the origin of the universe stems from the transformation of qi, meaning the transformation from qi to form, and from form to substance, all of which are rooted in nature. Therefore, Laozi said, "Humans follow the earth, the earth follows heaven, heaven follows the Dao, and the Dao follows nature."
"Yi theory" and "Dao practice" are the roots of Chinese culture, the spiritual and physical sustenance of humanity. Reading the Yi is inseparable from practicing the Dao, and practicing the Dao requires understanding the Yi. In life, one must not only possess high wisdom and knowledge but also cultivate a healthy body to apply what one learns and achieve both spiritual and physical wholeness. I have studied the Yi and practiced Dao techniques for over forty years, accumulating insights day by day. All of my knowledge is based on teacher (inheritance) and is not the result of blind or unguided practice. Therefore, I have compiled over ten essays on the Yi and the Dao from recent years, along with several selected excerpts, to provide reference for those who are dedicated to practicing the Dao.
