Features: This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Academic Divisions of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Over the past 50 years, the academicians have closely focused on the forefront of global science and technology, closely integrating with national economic development and social progress. They have achieved remarkable scientific and technological accomplishments, making outstanding contributions to the Party and the people. After two years of effort, the stories of 70 academicians were initially compiled and published. The reason for "initial compilation" was mainly due to space limitations and for the convenience of reading, with the first volume published first, followed by subsequent compilations. Regarding the book title, after suggestions from some academicians and experts, the originally proposed name "Praise of Dignity" was changed to "Science Changes Lives – The Heartfelt Journeys of Chinese Academy of Sciences Academicians." The book presented to you today is primarily the crystallization of this writing and collection campaign. To enrich the content, the editorial team worked tirelessly and excerpted relevant reports from some news media, compiling them together for publication as a gift to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Academic Divisions of the Chinese Academy of Sciences!
