The book is divided into four parts: readings of classic works, critiques of cultural events, expressions of respect for contemporary poets, and unique descriptions of personal life details. Although the subjects and perspectives vary, each part is well-crafted and dynamic. The author's insights into people, events, and classic works show Liu Chun's excellence as both a reader and a practitioner of contemporary poetry: he avoids blind adherence and maintains an independent, resolute stance in writing for his inner self. As Thomas Mann said, literature is a sacred transcendence of reality, and poetry is the eternal nightingale singing in the sky of literature. In the essay "You Heard the Nightingale in a Night," the author takes us into the world of Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges, guiding us to relive the shock of encountering the works of world-class writers. Beyond Borges, there are also Neruda, Kafka, Eliot, Rilke, Faulkner, and other renowned writers and poets who have all provided us with spiritual nourishment. Liu Chun repeatedly mentions them in the book, not only to reiterate the classic nature of their works but, more importantly, to call for the value and necessity of a "serious, dedicated, and mission-driven writing attitude" in the context of a market economy. Clarity is a highly valuable quality for a writer. Independent thinking in a rational state can avoid following trends, hesitation, and an unconscious sense of superiority in writing. In the essay "My Writer's Journey," the author blushingly asks himself, "Are you writing for fame and fortune or for your inner self?" We have also asked ourselves this question. The problems and difficulties the author encountered during the writing process are ones we have experienced or will experience. It is precisely because of this that the book resonates deeply with me while reading.
