Features: Since childhood, Bai Li Xing has always admired a line from American films: "If you have money, you are truly lucky, for you can effortlessly obtain what you need with it; if you don’t have money, though unfortunate, but if you still have a good mind, through hard work, you can also achieve your hopes; if you neither have money nor a wise brain, then you can only pray to God. But God is really busy." He thought of his father and felt it was time to seek the old man’s help. Over the years, he had deeply understood the profound meaning of the old saying, "Old ginger is spicier."
In a certain western province, to improve the work style of cadres and enhance their quality, a thought education campaign titled "Establishing the Image of Public Servants and Fostering a Service Consciousness" was launched among the provincial cadre team. People simply referred to this campaign as "Two Establishments." To ensure the effective implementation of the campaign, the Provincial Committee established dozens of inspection and guidance teams to oversee the "Two Establishments" activities in various cities and counties. Bai Li Xing, the Director of the External Publicity Department of the Provincial Committee Propaganda Department, also joined as a member of the guidance team and came to Gucang City to participate in the "Two Establishments" guidance work.
Just before the Provincial Committee’s inspection and guidance team arrived in Gucang City, the veteran workers from the Gucang Chemical Factory, where Bai Li Xing had once worked, came specially to the Provincial Committee to report on the irregularities and violations of Hu Yan Youde, the former factory director and now the Director of the Gucang City Transportation Bureau. Subsequently, on the day the Provincial Committee’s inspection and guidance team arrived at the Gucang City Municipal Committee, they also received complaints about Hu Yan Youde’s decadent lifestyle and corruption, which also involved Dong Yu, the newly appointed Vice Mayor of Gucang City.
