Features: This book explains the basis for selecting and recommending preferred forms for each set of variant words, enabling readers to understand not only "what" but also "why," thereby using the recommended forms correctly. It strives to be standardized, targeted, and practical, helping readers to use language and characters in a standardized manner. The entries collected in this book mainly include variant words from the "List for Standardizing Variant Words" and the "Draft List of 264 Sets of Variant Words," with over 300 commonly used but need-standardized sets, totaling 996 sets. In each set of variant words, the recommended form is placed before the hyphen, while the proposed form is placed after the hyphen. The entries are arranged in the order of the Pinyin phonetic sequence of the first character and, in cases of the same number of strokes, by stroke count from least to most. For easy reference, an index of the stroke count for the first character of each entry is also provided.
