Yet, after being tempered by war and the hardships of life, Lü Guichen transformed from his once gentle and weak nature, gradually maturing and strengthening himself in his brothers' power struggle. At the time, the Da Yin royal family of the Eastern Continent was declining, with several feudal states rising up. The Great Lord of Qingyang sought to achieve his ambition of dominating the Eastern Continent by allying with the Xia Tang Kingdom. As a result, Lü Guichen was sent as a hostage to Xia Tang. There, he met the arrogant and spirited Tian Du warrior, Ji Ye. He was drawn to Ji Ye's bold and never-surrendering resilience, and the two formed a deep friendship. This is the story of the young Zhaowu Duke and the young Yu Lie King of the future Da Xie Dynasty.
