Features: On March 14, 2004, the Second Session of the Tenth National People's Congress passed the "Amendment to the Constitution of the People's Republic of China," marking the fourth amendment to the Constitution of the People's Republic of China, which was adopted on December 4, 1982, by the Fifth Session of the Fifth National People's Congress. Vice Chairman Wang Zhaoguo, in his explanation on the "Draft Amendment to the Constitution of the People's Republic of China" during the Second Session of the Tenth National People's Congress, stated: "To safeguard the authority and dignity of the Constitution, ensure the uniformity of the constitutional text, and facilitate the study and implementation of the Constitution, it is proposed that after the session adopts the constitutional amendment, the General Secretariat of the National People's Congress shall make corresponding revisions to the relevant provisions of the Constitution based on the amendment. The original 1982 Constitution, the four constitutional amendments, and the revised text shall be distributed simultaneously." Accordingly, the 1982 Constitution, the four constitutional amendments, and the revised constitutional text based on the four amendments are hereby published together.
