National mourning

Author: Zhou Meisen

Publishing Date: 2005-05-01
Features: On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World War II against Fascism, we have specially compiled and published this series of commemorative books. The series features a mix of Chinese and foreign writers, primarily focusing on medium-length novels, supplemented by a few longer short stories. It artistically recreates the magnificent scenes of the Chinese people, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, fighting bravely against Japanese invaders more than 60 years ago, as well as the global people rising up to resist the atrocities of the fascists. At the same time, it truthfully and vividly exposes the inhumane and brutal cruelty of the fascists, as well as the immense disasters brought to the Chinese people and people of all countries by that war. Justice will ultimately prevail over evil. Sixty years have passed since that dark page in human history. When peace and development have become the two major themes of the world's current progress, we should still learn from history, look toward the future, and strive tirelessly for world peace and human development, as well as for building a fairer and more reasonable new international political and economic order. This is also the original intention behind our compiling and publishing this series of books.
