Features: Since the reform and opening-up, Chinese society has undergone tremendous changes in many aspects. With the development of the internet and digital revolution, new information of various kinds has emerged endlessly, with about 1,000 new words appearing each year. These new words frequently appear in newspapers, magazines, and other news media. When we read newspapers, listen to the news, or engage in interpretation (oral or written), we cannot avoid encountering such new words. Without understanding these words, we cannot understand the rapidly changing China. Currently, no bilingual dictionary of this kind has been published domestically. We compiled this dictionary to meet the urgent needs of society. This dictionary primarily includes new words, new meanings, and new usages that have emerged or entered social life since the 1990s, with some occasional inclusion of earlier words that are now highly frequently used. It contains approximately 7,000 entries. Words that originated before the 1990s but have been given new meanings or developed new usages are also appropriately included, along with frequently used abbreviations. The fields covered include information, communication, economic and trade, environmental protection, medicine, sports, law, science and technology, etc. To maximize the amount of information, the new words included in this dictionary are not only explained in Korean but also annotated with Pinyin and, as much as possible, supplemented with English explanations.
