Features: Emergency and Critical Care Medicine was established in the 1970s-1980s abroad, while in China, it emerged and rapidly developed as a clinical discipline in the 1980s-1990s. The rise of this discipline has significantly improved the rescue success rate of emergency and critical care patients. The prominent features of this discipline are: interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary. The characteristics of emergency and critical care patients are multiple systemic sequential functional abnormalities during the course of the disease, so a high-quality healthcare team with cross-professional and multidisciplinary emergency knowledge and skills is required. Additionally, due to the rapidly changing conditions of patients in this discipline, healthcare professionals need to dynamically monitor changes in the patient's condition and adjust rescue plans in a timely manner to seize the opportunity for rescue, thereby improving the success rate of emergency and critical care rescue and reducing mortality. This poses a practical challenge for healthcare professionals working in emergency clinical settings to update their knowledge. For this reason, we have organized the writing of this book. The book is divided into three major parts: General Theory, Specific Topics, and Special Tests, Therapies, and Care, with a total of 74 chapters. The first part primarily introduces the modern pre-hospital and in-hospital emergency rescue management systems both domestically and internationally. The second part provides a detailed description of the theoretical measures for the treatment of emergency and critical care diseases in various systems. The third part discusses the application of special tests, therapies, and care in the clinical treatment of emergency and critical care diseases, analyzing cases in combination. The book includes over 200 images and ultrasound pictures, making it rich in both text and visuals. This book serves as a reference textbook for the continuous education of 21st-century clinical emergency and critical care medicine, serving as a valuable guide and companion for healthcare professionals in emergency and critical care disciplines. It also holds certain reference value for the treatment of emergency and critical care patients in various clinical disciplines.
