Features: While exiting the customs at Beijing Capital International Airport, I accidentally dropped my glasses on the marble floor and broke one of the lenses. However, I had already passed through customs and couldn’t go back. There was no choice but to continue on my journey with just one good eye. "Seeing Europe with one eye" became a reality for me. Some people travel abroad as easily as drinking tea, but my trip was quite challenging, so I had to cherish every moment. I brought my notebook, recorder, and camera, as a writer’s reflections are abundant, especially when traveling abroad—how could I be casual? I remembered Kang Youwei, one of the "Seven Gentlemen," who inscribed on his seal: "A hundred days of reform, fourteen years of exile. Three tours of the world, traveled across four continents. Through thirty-one countries, traveled forty thousand li." Reading this left me deeply moved, filled with longing. Although I couldn’t travel forty thousand li or visit thirty-one countries this time, I could still cover most of Europe on foot, and occasional discoveries would be enough. This book is a collection of travel essays written by the author. Not only does it describe the scenery and cultural geography of Europe, but it also shares the customs, traditions, and culinary cultures of various European countries. The articles include "Entering Rome," "Entering Vatican City," "The Sunshine of the Adriatic Sea," "Feeling Munich," "Eating Chinese in Europe," "The Finnish Ode," "Rembrandt," and more.
