Features: This book is based on the "Laboratory Manual of Electromagnetism" used for many years at the School of Physical Sciences, Nankai University, which has been comprehensively revised, supplemented, and expanded to include new experiments introduced in recent years. It consists of two parts: preliminary knowledge and 28 selected experiments. These experiments have been adopted in the teaching practice of undergraduate programs in science at our university and are relatively mature. A considerable number of the apparatus used in these experiments were designed and manufactured by us, such as the "Apparatus for Measuring Properties of Ferromagnetic Materials" and the "Multifunctional Microvoltmeter." These apparatuses are highly targeted, practical, and advanced, and have won various awards at different levels and are now used in teaching. During the writing process, the book follows the principle of simplifying the complex and progressing from simple to advanced, ensuring that deeper content is explained in an accessible manner to help students grasp and apply it. Each experiment includes an introduction, notes, experimental principles, and content, making it easier for students to understand the overall picture and avoid errors. The review questions and thought-provoking questions at the end of each chapter help students review, summarize, and improve their understanding. In some experiments, practical activities such as homemade transformers and thermocouples are emphasized, which undoubtedly promotes students' initiative, the integration of theory with practice, and their hands-on skills. To reflect the development of modern science and technology, we have introduced new experiments and expanded the content, allowing students to learn about new experimental instruments and measurement methods, broadening their horizons. Additionally, new experiments with comprehensive content in fields such as mechanics-electricity and optics-electricity have been added, which is highly beneficial for cultivating students' comprehensive experimental abilities. The writing of this electromagnetism laboratory manual and the design of experiments reflect the dedication and wisdom of the teachers and engineering technicians in our laboratory. The "Laboratory Manual of Electromagnetism" was originally compiled by colleagues who worked in our laboratory. During this revision, we also referred to relevant textbooks from sister institutions, and we extend our gratitude to them. During the writing process, Professor Men Zhenyu provided enthusiastic support and patient guidance. Professor Tan Chengzhang carefully reviewed the draft and offered many valuable and pertinent suggestions. We sincerely express our gratitude to both gentlemen. The writing of this book was also supported by the help of Professor Gao Limo, Professor Liu Zichen, and Engineer Chen Ping. Nankai University Press also extended warm support and cooperation, and we are deeply grateful to them. This book was reviewed by Professor Tan Chengzhang. Due to the limited expertise of the authors, flaws and errors may still exist, and we kindly request criticism and correction from the readers. Authors
