Features: Almost every English learner who wants to pass various English exams memorizes vocabulary, hoping to master all the words in the shortest time possible. However, they often end up picking up both sand and gold, wasting a lot of effort without achieving the desired vocabulary level. This brings up the issue of methodology. The "High-Frequency Vocabulary Express" series we publish provides readers with a fast, direct, and effective way to learn vocabulary. It helps candidates target the essential words and efficiently master them, thereby smoothly passing various English exams. High-frequency vocabulary refers to words that frequently appear in exam papers. These words have repeatedly appeared in the English CET-4, CET-6, TEM-4, TEM-8, and postgraduate entrance exams over the years. Mastering these "familiar faces" in the papers greatly benefits test-takers, and it is also the experience of high scorers year after year. Recognizing the important role of "high-frequency vocabulary" in exam preparation, we have specifically compiled this series of high-frequency vocabulary books for candidates. The specific features of this book are as follows:
1. Practical vocabulary, emphasizing the frequency of occurrence. We conducted a serious analysis and summary of the CET-6 exam papers from 1993 to 2002 (10 years) using computers, accurately recording all the vocabulary from the CET-6 syllabus and their frequencies of occurrence. Therefore, the vocabulary recorded in this book are all frequently appearing and essential words in the CET-6 exam.
2. Innovative arrangement, emphasizing the order of key memorization. The entries in this book are arranged in an inverted pyramid shape, based on the frequency of occurrence of words in the 10 years of exam papers, with the most frequent words listed first. This breaks the conventional arrangement to help candidates earlier, faster, and more effectively digest those high-frequency words, which are naturally also the most important.
3. Detailed content, emphasizing interconnected auxiliary memory. The selected vocabulary are accompanied by phonetic symbols, syllabus definitions, and example sentences. It is worth mentioning that each example sentence is also provided with a Chinese translation.
4. Realistic goals, emphasizing the efficiency of exam-oriented learning. The high-frequency vocabulary are all selected from exam papers, and the example sentences are carefully chosen from the reading comprehension and vocabulary & structure sections of the exam papers. This serves as a good learning method for learners while also providing implicit exam preparation and skill training.
5. Proper methodology, emphasizing consolidation through exam practice. To further help readers master the frequently tested vocabulary for CET-6, we have arranged all the vocabulary & structure questions from the 10 years of exam papers in random order to form 10 sets of tests. Each set contains 30 questions, with the same structure as the actual exam, aiming to achieve practical practice. Subsequently, detailed explanations are provided to help candidates grasp the exam patterns and master exam-taking skills.
In summary, the compilation of high-frequency vocabulary is to focus our efforts and more quickly and effectively build the sunny and bright English we desire, helping candidates smoothly pass English exams within limited time.
