Features: This book is part of the "Nine-Five" National Education Commission Key Textbook Project for General Higher Education, titled "Basic Japanese Course." It is written for first and second-year undergraduate students majoring in Japanese. The series consists of 4 volumes, with each volume designed for one semester (180–220 class hours) when taught at a rate of 10–12 hours per week. The features of this book include: Before and during its development, we analyzed several major domestic and international basic Japanese textbooks, including those used in our own university, summarizing the strengths and weaknesses of previous materials. Our goal was to create a completely new basic Japanese textbook tailored to the characteristics and needs of adult learners, particularly Chinese students learning Japanese. The book incorporates new reflections and designs in the following aspects: 1. Given that adult learners of Japanese often lack a Japanese language environment, we carefully selected teaching methods to address this challenge, which has been a practice in China to date.
