You might notice something flicker in the corner of your eye, but when you turn to look, you'll find nothing there—while I follow you in the dark, I am your nightmare." During a vacation in Wales, Susie encountered someone with "immortality." Was it a person? Or a beast. The Cambridge English Readers series is specially written for young learners of English in non-English-speaking countries. It differs from the usual abridged versions of famous novels. The authors of this series are either experienced TEFL teachers in the UK with many years of teaching experience or novelists themselves. They carefully select vocabulary and grammar points, creating engaging works in authentic English, arranged in levels from low to high, progressively. The novels cover a wide range of genres, including adventures, mysteries, science fiction, romance, comedy, and more. The themes are modern, ( means "" in Chinese, which should be translated as "" or "relevant to daily life"), and involve different regional and cultural aspects from both Eastern and Western countries, making the reading experience immersive and enjoyable. Extensive reading has always been the big secret of English learning. It allows learners to use their own time and set their own pace, and the key to success is—enjoyment of reading! The Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press has introduced this new original novel series from Cambridge University Press and published it in both English-Chinese bilingual and English-annotated formats to meet the diverse needs of Chinese readers. We hope that readers will not only enjoy the pleasure of reading but also further improve their English skills!
