Features: Fan Zeng, born in 1938, is from Nantong City, Jiangsu Province. He graduated from the Chinese Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1962. From 1962 to 1978, he worked at the Chinese History Museum, engaged in historical painting creation and research on ancient Chinese figures' decorative materials. From 1978 to 1984, he served as an associate professor at the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts. From 1984 to 1999, he was a professor at the Department of East Asian Art, Nankai University. Currently, he is a doctoral supervisor at the Department of History, Nankai University, a professor at the Department of East Asian Art, Nankai University, and a mentor at the China Culture College, Peking University. He has published over 50 works, including art albums, poetry collections, prose collections, art theory books, and speech collections. He self-evaluates himself with 24 characters: "Obsessed with painting, skilled in calligraphy; occasionally writing prose, expressing his own feelings; fond of reading history books, understanding the changes of ancient and modern times."
Li Xiaoxuan, born on April 17, 1959, in Hanqi District, Tianjin City. He graduated from the Chinese Painting Department of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts in 1982 and is currently a professor at the Chinese Painting Department of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts. His works have participated in all national important exhibitions and have been collected by institutions such as the Modern Korean Art Museum, Guangzhou Art Museum, Shenzhen Art Museum, Chinese Painting Research Institute, Taiwan Changjiang Art Museum, and Singapore's Sun Min Art Museum. His published works include: Chinese Contemporary Famous Painters' Manuscripts – Li Xiaoxuan, From Realism to Absurdity – Li Xiaoxuan and His Modern Ink Wash, and Floral and Bird Paintings by Contemporary Masters – Li Xiaoxuan. His main published papers include: On Painting (Two Essays), Self-Reflection, The Flow of a Line, Truth, Mindset, and Creation, and Excavating the Origin of the Present and Affirming the Process of Language.
