1. The China Intellectual Property Yearbook is a comprehensive reference book reflecting the basic status of China's intellectual property field. It was first published in November 2001 and is released annually. This issue is the 2003 volume, covering the activities of China's intellectual property field in 2002, published in November 2004.

The text of this issue is divided into twelve sections: "Leaders' Speeches," "Special Articles," "Overview," "Major Events," "Top 100 News," "Statistical Data," "Patent Awards," "Outstanding Figures," "Laws, Regulations, Rules, and Interpretations," "Typical Cases," "Directories," "Publications," and "Index."
3. The "Leaders' Speeches" section includes important speeches by national leaders, the State Press and Publication Administration, the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, and leaders of the Supreme People's Court on intellectual property issues in 2003.
4. The "Special Articles" section features views and discussions by leaders, experts, and scholars in the intellectual property field on major and hot issues that occurred in the past year.
5. The "Overview" section comprehensively reports on the status of patents, trademarks, copyrights, plant variety protection, judicial protection, and the activities of intellectual property associations in China.
6. The "Major Events" section records significant administrative and judicial protection events for patents, trademarks, copyrights, and plant varieties in China in 2003.
7. The "Top 100 News" is a newly added column, featuring excerpts from intellectual property-related newspapers and journals, covering representative events, most of which are first-time occurrences.
8. The "Statistical Data" section collects important statistical data on administrative and judicial protection of patents, trademarks, copyrights, and plant varieties.
9. The "Patent Awards and Outstanding Figures" section includes introductions to the projects of the 8th China Patent Gold Award in 2003, as well as collective and individual achievements recognized by the National Copyright Administration in 2003.
10. The "Laws, Regulations, Rules, and Interpretations" section publishes and analyzes newly promulgated and revised intellectual property laws, regulations, rules, and interpretations by the Supreme People's Court, as well as expert reviews of the revised laws.
11. The "Typical Cases" section is divided into intellectual property judicial cases, patent review cases by the Patent Reexamination Board of the National Intellectual Property Administration, trademark review cases by the Trademark Review Board of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, administrative enforcement cases by the National Copyright Administration, cases handled by national intellectual property associations and their agencies, administrative enforcement cases for patents and trademarks in various regions, enforcement cases by trademark administrative organs, and analyses.
12. The "Directories" section lists the contact information of national and local intellectual property administrative organs after institutional reforms.
13. The "Publications" section features new intellectual property books published in 2003, provided by the Cataloging Center of the State Press and Publication Administration.
14. The "Index" is a retrieval tool created by the editorial team to facilitate readers in finding detailed cases and tables in the book. Cases can be searched by Pinyin, and tables can be searched in chronological order.
