Features: This book is a national-level planning textbook for the "Tenth Five-Year Plan" of general higher education, developed in response to the requirements of higher education for cultivating high-quality talents. It is based on the "Basic Requirements for Engineering Drawing Curriculum in General Universities" formulated by the Ministry of Education's Engineering Drawing Teaching Guidance Committee in 2004, as well as the newly promulgated "Technical Drawing" and "Mechanical Drawing" national standards. The book is written by the authors based on their extensive experience in teaching reform. With the aim of enhancing students' engineering awareness, cultivating their engineering cultural literacy, and fostering innovative design thinking, the book adheres to innovative conceptual design as its main thread, focuses on developing students' practical abilities in freehand sketching, drafting with instruments, and computer-aided design, and aims to master fundamental knowledge while broadening their technical knowledge. The book organically integrates the intersection, union, difference, and graphical transformations of graphics into engineering drawing, emphasizing the application and innovative design content. The book is divided into sixteen chapters, with main content including: basic knowledge and skills of engineering drawing, fundamental concepts and theories of orthogonal projection, projection of basic geometric elements, projection of basic geometric solids, projection of cut-off geometric solids, projection of intersecting solids, drawing and reading of composite solids, basic representation methods of drawings, assembly drawings, special representation methods of commonly used standard parts and springs, assembly drawings, isometric drawings, an introduction to other engineering drawings (electrical, chemical, architectural), and computer-aided design. Accompanying this book is the "Engineering Drawing Exercise Book" edited by Zeng Weichuan, Sun Lanfeng, and Song Zhixue, also published by Higher Education Press, for reference. To meet multimedia teaching requirements, a "Multimedia Teaching Courseware for Engineering Drawing" has also been developed, containing electronic lesson plans and problem solutions. This book is suitable for students in mechanical and non-mechanical engineering disciplines at general universities and self-study readers with similar requirements. It can also be used by students in related disciplines at other types of institutions.
