Features: Zhang Déyù was born on October 10, 1931, in Zhenping County, Henan Province. In his early years, he worked on art in the military. In 1955, he was admitted to the Central Academy of Fine Arts and studied under professors such as Dong Xiwén, Ye Qianyu, Li Keran, and Liang Yulong, laying a solid foundation. In 1958, after graduation, he was assigned to Tianjin Baihua Literature and Art Publishing House as an art editor. In 1981, he was transferred to the Tianjin Art Institute for professional creation. He is a member of the China Artists Association, a first-class national art master, enjoys the state's special contribution allowance, and has served as a council member of the China Artists Association for two terms. He is currently the vice chairman of the Tianjin Artists Association and the vice chairman of the Huabei District Political and Consultative Committee of Tianjin. His important works include illustrations for novels such as "Bitter Melon Flower," "The Prequel to the Iron and Wood," and "The Sun Rises in the East," as well as large-scale Chinese painting works like "Lingnan Style" and "Iron Embankment," which are renowned in the art world.
