The language is easy to understand, the content is practical and specific, and it offers highly operational, simple, and effective solutions to the often overlooked details in daily life. Professor Wu Xianzhong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Professor Hao Xishan are joint chief editors. Prevention and personal hygiene, environmental hygiene, and family hygiene have been emphasized in social spaces. The Research Center of the China Publishers Association International Cooperation Publishing Promotion Society organized professionals in epidemiology, preventive medicine, and public health to conduct in-depth and extensive analysis and research on the social reflections and lessons of the "SARS" epidemic. Professor Liang Wanren, President of Capital Medical University and expert team leader of the Beijing Municipal Health Bureau's SARS Prevention and Control Command, Professor Gao Juzhong, President of Chaoyang Hospital in Beijing, Professor Hao Xishan, President of Tianjin Medical University and an academician, renowned medical talent Wu Xianzhong, and medical ethicist Jin Zhanzhong, among others, conducted discussions, introductions, and reflections. It was agreed that Japan had a zero infection rate for "SARS," while Shenzhen in Guangdong, also in China, had a mild "SARS" epidemic. The fundamental reason was the local emphasis on personal, family, and environmental hygiene. Some families, shops, and streets could be described as "spotlessly clean," with people using mops to clean the floors in front of shops and on park paths. In areas with severe "SARS" outbreaks, vegetable and meat markets and rural markets were not much different; small restaurants and snack stalls were primarily run by rural migrant workers, with extremely poor hygiene conditions, environments, and awareness. The use of many public utensils was almost unbearable. In light of this, the Research Center of the China Publishers Association International Cooperation Publishing Promotion Society decided to organize renowned domestic public health experts to compile this book, "Family Health Science." The focus of the compilation is on popularizing health knowledge, emphasizing prevention, practicality, steps, and methods, with the target readers being urban and rural family members, especially housewives. Although the title includes "learning," the content minimizes references to complex academic literature, prioritizes smooth writing, and highlights popularization, life-oriented, and mass-oriented approaches, using colloquial and common language as much as possible. It aims to be concise, clear, and engaging, with Q&A formats, focusing on family health, personal hygiene, disinfection in daily life, the treatment and prevention of family environmental pollution, and comprehensive family diseases, including aspects of hygiene related to psychology, pregnancy and children, and the elderly.
