The story begins like this: Rent a hat and gown, take graduation photos, and decide to head back. Some classmates planned to stay and settle down, some were still not satisfied and wanted to enter graduate school, some followed tradition with a backpack to travel to Europe, and some wanted to find jobs. A class of nine who were pursuing a Ph.D. in British literature had no one to travel with me. Xiao Zhao asked, "Do you have a plan?" I replied, "Yes." Xiao Qian said, "Tell me about it." "Go back to work," Xiao Sun asked, "Teaching?" "The path for someone who studies literature is no different, but Professor Sheng recommended me, partly for food and partly for a living. Deep down, what I truly want to do is writing." Xiao Li laughed, "A winding and difficult road." I asked, "What about you?" Zhao said, "I'm going to New York to give it a try." "Yi, half of them are HIV-positive, and the other half are Rambo. The bacteria will spare you, but the machine guns will take your life."
