Features: This textbook covers the accounting of financial institutions, primarily focusing on the accounting practices of major business operations in commercial competition, trust, securities, leasing, and other financial companies. Financial accounting belongs to the industry accounting, and its business characteristics determine that the object, scope, tasks, and roles of financial accounting differ from those of other departmental accounting.
The revision of this textbook is mainly based on the following points: First, with the increasing globalization of financial competition, China's financial industry's business philosophy is becoming more aligned with market requirements, leading to continuous reforms and improvements in business regulations and systems. Changes in business and management inevitably bring changes in accounting practices, and the content of financial accounting textbooks must adapt to these changes. Second, to continuously standardize the accounting practices of financial institutions and improve the quality of accounting information, the Ministry of Finance issued the "Accounting System for Financial Institutions" in November 2001, which was first implemented in listed financial institutions starting from January 1, 2002. This is the direction of reform in financial accounting, and the teaching content of financial accounting must be correspondingly revised and adjusted. This textbook is suitable for use in financial programs at universities and the Central Radio and Television University, as well as for training and self-study by employees of financial institutions.
