Features: The operating room is the place where surgical and related specialty patients undergo surgery. It has always been a crucial department that hospitals pay great attention to and focus on. The management level of the operating room, surgical nursing coordination, and professional standards directly affect the outcome of surgery. Especially with the continuous development of modern medicine, advancements in surgical techniques, anesthesia methods, equipment, and surgical instruments have been rapid, placing even greater demands on nurses to improve their operating room management skills and technical expertise. In this context, there is an urgent need for a comprehensive and systematic book that introduces operating room management and coordination for various specialties. With this in mind, we invited senior nursing experts from some of the most influential hospitals in the country to compile this "Practical Handbook of Surgical Coordination," as a reference for operating room nurses at all levels of hospitals.
The "Practical Handbook of Surgical Coordination" is a series of large-scale reference books, including seven volumes: "Surgical Nursing Management," "Surgical Coordination for General Surgery and Pediatric Surgery," "Surgical Coordination for Orthopedics," "Surgical Coordination for Cardiothoracic Surgery and Neurosurgery," "Surgical Coordination for Urology, Gynecology, Plastic Surgery, and Burn Surgery," "Surgical Coordination for Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, and Maxillofacial Surgery," and "Practical Handbook of Surgical Instruments for Nurses." The content of the entire series is comprehensive, rich, and up-to-date, reflecting the concept of holistic nursing while highlighting the characteristics of the operating room. The book closely integrates basic surgery with newly developed procedures, elaborating on key points of surgical coordination in a clear, well-organized, and standardized manner, fully demonstrating the advanced level of surgery in China. The authors have integrated the management knowledge and professional expertise that modern surgical specialists must master throughout the book, striving for practicality and close alignment with clinical needs to cultivate qualified surgical specialists.
The "Practical Handbook of Surgical Instruments for Nurses" is designed for operating room nurses, providing a visual introduction to commonly used surgical instruments, instrument sets, and surgical preparation supplies across various specialties. The book is divided into three parts. The first part addresses the needs of various specialties, covering surgical instruments for ophthalmology, dentistry, otolaryngology, cardiothoracic surgery, abdominal and vascular surgery, urology, surgical needles, and sutures. The second part introduces 37 common surgical instrument sets, detailing their specific contents and accompanying images. The third part lists surgical preparation supplies for various common surgeries in 10 specialties in a tabular format, covering five aspects: surgical name, patient position, instrument set preparation, linen preparation, and other supplies.
