The Public English Test System (PETS), abbreviated as PETS, is a national English proficiency examination system designed and administered by the National Education Examination Center. It is the only multi-level authoritative English testing system in China that is open to all citizens. PETS consists of two relatively independent assessment components: written and oral exams, comprehensively evaluating candidates' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
