Features: This book is one of the achievements of the 2002 Beijing Higher Education Excellent Teaching Material Construction Project, and also the first textbook in China dedicated to quantitative simulation research on geological processes. The book is divided into three parts and fifteen chapters. The first part covers basin geological processes and simulation, including basin formation and evolution, sedimentation and filling, diagenesis and fluid pressure calculation, heat flow variation and paleogeothermal restoration, etc. The second part focuses on hydrocarbon geological processes and simulation, including hydrocarbon generation and migration, hydrocarbon accumulation and sealing, as well as hydrocarbon accumulation and reservoir formation, etc. The third part introduces the development and application of three independently intellectual property-protected software products, respectively developed by the University of Petroleum, the Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration and Development, and the U.S. PRA Company, covering their functions, principles, and application examples. This book is suitable as a textbook for undergraduate and graduate students in universities and research institutions, as well as a reference book for a broad range of scientists and engineers engaged in geology and exploration, particularly in hydrocarbon geology and exploration. The book is divided into three parts and fifteen chapters. The first part covers basin geological processes and simulation; the second part focuses on hydrocarbon geological processes and simulation; the third part introduces the development and application of simulation systems, etc.
