Features: "The Complete Collection of Chinese Gold, Silver, Glass, and Enamel Works" is a part of "The Complete Collection of Chinese Art by Category." This collection is divided into three volumes of gold and silver wares, one volume of glass wares, and two volumes of enamel wares, totaling six books. The selected artifacts are all fine examples from each era. In addition to their artistic value, the collection also considers their historical, artistic, and archaeological significance. The primary focus is on artifacts from public and private collections within China, with representative and important pieces from overseas also included. This book features 272 sets of craftworks from the Xia, Shang, to the Southern and Northern Dynasties (1800 BC–589 AD), categorized into Northern Grassland gold and silver wares, Central Plains gold and silver wares, ancient Shu and Dian gold and silver wares in southwestern China, and gold and silver wares imported from the West. During this period, the development of gold and silver wares was highly regionalized, forming two major gold and silver ware and cultural blocks: the northern and southern ones. The coexistence, collision, and mutual influence of these two blocks, along with limited exchange and integration, are evident.
