Features: Young architects have always been the driving force in the architectural field, with sharp minds and a strong sense of innovation. "Young Architects·China" features 33 contemporary young Chinese architects who received higher professional education after the Cultural Revolution and are among the most active architects on today's Chinese architectural stage. Many of them have furthered their studies or gained practical experience in Western countries, bringing back insights, experiences, and ideas about the outside world to contribute to creative practices within China. Some are not only active in design practice but also serve as professors in universities, playing a positive role in promoting contemporary Chinese architectural creation and academic development while exerting influence in the international architectural arena. Although their perspectives on architecture vary, they all base their practices on their unique architectural philosophies. The works of the young architects featured in this book include completed projects, ongoing practices, design development stages, and even competition proposals. However, these meaningful and influential works represent diverse types and concepts of thinking about cities, existing environments, natural landscapes, and architecture, reflecting the pluralistic landscape of contemporary young Chinese architects. Although time and space constraints limit the selection to only a portion of this group of young architects, it is evident from these selections that they are bridging the "generation gap," transcending "styles," integrating Eastern and Western influences, and connecting the past with the present as they cultivate their own land on this vast and profound ancient land of China.
