Features: The Resources Commission was an agency under the Nationalist Government during the Republic of China period, specifically responsible for industrial development. After the "September 18th Incident," some visionary patriots realized that the Japanese aggressors would inevitably launch a full-scale invasion of China. They advised the Nationalist Government to vigorously develop industry, strengthen national power, and prepare for the war as early as possible, leading to the establishment of the Resources Commission. From its founding in Nanjing in 1932 to its dissolution in Taiwan in 1952, the commission belonged to the Military Council of the Nationalist Government, the Military Council, the Ministry of Economics, and the Executive Yuan. During the War of Resistance Against Japan, the commission rapidly developed industrial and mining enterprises in the rear areas. By the time of Japan's defeat, it had overseen nearly a thousand large and medium-sized enterprises (including those in Taiwan Province) and managed over 300,000 employees, becoming a department-level agency directly under the Executive Yuan. Most enterprises in China's oil, metal mining and smelting, steel, power, coal, machinery, and other industries were under its leadership. As the new China was about to be established, the commission's main leaders, driven by the greater national interest, led all enterprises and hundreds of thousands of employees on the mainland to abandon darkness and join the light, contributing to the economic construction of the new China. The Resources Commission played a pivotal role in the development of China's industrial modernization and social progress, laying a solid foundation for the industrial development of the new China.
