Features: Carl Czerny (1791-1857), a musical genius filled with miracles in his life, was later called the "founder of modern piano performance." His teacher was Beethoven, and he, in turn, taught Liszt. In 1812, Czerny also premiered Beethoven's famous work Piano Concerto No. 5 (Emperor). Czerny was not only an outstanding pianist but also made significant contributions as a composer and piano teacher, which cannot be overlooked. Beethoven even asked him to teach his nephew piano in his later years. He wrote nearly 1,000 works, including solo piano pieces, concertos, symphonies, masses, oratorios, requiems, motets, trios, quartets, and many songs. As a piano teacher, his achievements were extraordinary. Besides Liszt, other highly influential artists of the time, such as Leschetizky, Kullak, B?hm, Jaeschke, and D?rr, were among his students. He taught at the Vienna State Conservatory for many years during his lifetime. The Virtuoso Pianist (Op. 740) is a crucial milestone in advanced piano studies. Some call the progression from The School of Velocity (Op. 299) to The Virtuoso Pianist (Op. 740) the "Dragon Gate" in the advancement of piano technique. Only by reaching this milestone can one enter the higher stage of piano performance.
