The ideal of equality and a strong nation and the Soviet practice

Author: Liu Zhi

Publication Date: 2005-01-01
Features: This collection includes articles on Soviet history research that were publicly published in journals such as Historical Research, World History, East European and Central Asian Studies, Journal of Shaanxi Normal University, A Hundred Years of Tide, Russian Studies, and Problems of Soviet History since 1978. Several of these articles were revised and previously appeared in the author's 1989 book Studies on the Soviet Socialist Road, which is now out of print. The original versions of these articles are included in this collection, with most being published for the first time. A significant portion of the articles was written after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. The articles were written over several decades, and their perspectives and the depth of the issues explored vary considerably. Presenting these articles in their original form not only allows readers to fully understand my viewpoints and opinions but also provides insight into the evolution of my thinking and the development and changes in my research methods. The socialist practice of Russia is one of the most significant historical phenomena of the 20th century. This practice had a profound impact on the development of world history. In the new century, people will continue to study this history as a spiritual treasure. Using A Century of Practice as the title also reflects my summary of this practice.
