Features: The Illustrated Flora of Higher Plants in China is a new work in Chinese plant taxonomy that is comprehensive in its families and genera, abundant in species, accurate in the of Chinese and Latin names, concise, practical, and richly illustrated. The book records approximately 20,000 plant species, including common forest, vegetation, and garden species, economically or scientifically valuable species, species distributed across more than two provinces or regions or widely in neighboring countries but only found in certain peripheral provinces in China, representative species of each genus, and common introduced and cultivated exotic species. The book is published in 13 volumes. This is the 13th volume, covering the Sparganiaceae to Orchidaceae. Each plant entry includes descriptions of morphology, distribution, and habitat, with some species also noting their primary uses. Each plant is accompanied by a morphological illustration and a county-level geographical distribution map. The illustrations include newly drawn ones, reproductions of original diagrams from Illustrated Floras, and figures copied from previously published floras or journals, all annotated with the names of the original artists or the sources from which they were derived. Some plants are also accompanied by color plates.
