Effective prescription

Author: Ke Jia
Publisher:
Publishing Date: March 1, 1998
Features: The full title of this book is The Complete Collection of Miraculous and Effective Prescriptions from the Imperial Medical College, but I have used its abbreviation later. It was compiled by Dong Su of the Ming Dynasty's Imperial Medical College, supplemented by Fang Xian, and edited and published by Yang Wenhan. The book consists of 69 volumes, with some catalogs counted as an additional volume, making it 70 in total, and was approximately completed in 1449. Very few later editions of this book exist. For this collation and annotation, the Ming Chenghua 7th year (Xinmao) edition of the Imperial Medical College was used as the base text, with the Zhengtong period edition as the main collation reference. It also references the original works cited, such as Su Wen and Ling Shu, and was collated and edited accordingly. Here are a few notes for the reader's convenience:
1. If there are differences between the base text and the collation reference but the meaning remains clear, no collation notes are provided, and the base text is retained; if the collation reference has a longer meaning, the original text is preserved with a publishing note.
2. Obvious errors, variant characters, colloquial characters, archaic characters, damaged characters, and homophonic characters are all corrected directly.
3. The book quotes extensively from previous scholars and incorporates personal interpretations. If the meaning is clear, no changes are made; for obvious mistakes, omissions, or redundancies, corrections, additions, or deletions are made directly; for uncertain cases, no collation notes are provided.
4. If the catalog of the base text differs from the main text, the two are cross-referenced and supplemented accordingly without collation notes.
5. Due to changes in formatting, original directional terms like "right" and "left" are uniformly changed to "upper" and "lower" without annotations.
6. Titles of books and chapters are enclosed in book titles, and no notes are provided.
