Features: The Book of Happiness and Longevity consists of seven volumes and is a Ming Dynasty work on health preservation, completed in the fourth year of the Tianqi reign (1624). The content includes:
1. The Chapter of Happiness and Nourishing Life, which primarily discusses the relationship between clothing, food, shelter, transportation, and taboos with longevity;
2. The Chapter of Happiness and Prolonging Life, which records the postures and secrets of cultivation by various immortals;
3. The Chapter of Happiness and Dietary Practices, which lists food and nourishment methods for anti-aging and longevity;
4. The Chapter of Happiness and Gathering and Cultivating, which introduces the secret recipes of Lüzu for longevity and the essentials of bedroom health preservation;
5. The Chapter of Happiness and Profound Cultivation, which teaches the techniques of Qigong and alchemy, as well as the method of the union of the universe;
6. The Chapter of Longevity and Pure Joy, which promotes the joy of pure happiness;
7. The Chapter of Organs, which discusses the importance of organs to the human body and methods for protecting them.
Initially published in the fourth year of the Tianqi reign, The Book of Happiness and Longevity (also known as The Five Blessings and Ten Thousand Years of Longevity Book) was a six-volume work with chapters titled "The Chapter of Nourishing Life," "The Chapter of Prolonging Life," "The Chapter of Dietary Practices," "The Chapter of Gathering and Cultivating," "The Chapter of Profound Cultivation," and "The Chapter of Pure Joy." Later, in the third year of the Chongzhen reign, it was revised by removing "The Chapter of Profound Cultivation" and "The Chapter of Pure Joy" while adding "The Chapter of Organs," and was renamed The Ten Thousand Years of Longevity Book as a five-volume work.
