Anthony Gormley is an internationally renowned artist who has been engaged in a long-term project called "Land" since 1989, interacting with different communities around the world. To create different versions of the "Land" sculpture, he traveled to various countries, from the Amazon rainforest to Northern Europe. In January 2003, he worked with more than 300 citizens from Huadu District in the northeastern part of Guangzhou, spanning different age groups, for five days to create nearly 200,000 small clay figures, forming a large-scale sculpture exhibition titled "Land."
