Features: A folk prescription refers to a formula with a limited number of medicinal ingredients that has a unique therapeutic effect on certain conditions. "Comprehensive Collection of Folk Prescriptions" includes over 2,380 ancient and modern folk, empirical, and dietary prescriptions. It is rich in practical experience, incorporates medical principles, and features detailed content, clear explanations, well-organized entries, and easy-to-understand language. This book is used for treating illnesses with simple formulas and minimal ingredients, making it widely accessible and easy to implement. It is beneficial for both healthcare professionals and the general public. The third edition of "Comprehensive Collection of Folk Prescriptions" has undergone substantial revisions and additions based on the second edition:
1. Expanded Content: The initial edition of "Comprehensive Collection" covered approximately 140 conditions, listing over 2,000 prescriptions. The revised edition now includes over 170 conditions, with more than 2,380 prescriptions. In addition to the expanded content, the second edition's prescriptions have been supplemented with brief introductions on ingredients, preparation methods, efficacy, usage notes, and contraindications in simple language. Some references have been cited to assist readers in understanding and mastering the information.
2. Categorized by Condition: The second edition was divided into nine major sections. After supplementation and adjustments, the third edition is now organized into ten major sections: Internal Medicine, Surgery, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Pediatrics, Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology, Dermatology, Oncology, Aesthetic Medicine, Longevity and Nourishing Dietary Recipes, and Supplementary Prescriptions. Readers can easily find relevant prescriptions by consulting the conditions listed under each department.
3. Added a Condition Name Index: One prescription may treat multiple conditions, and one condition may be treated by multiple prescriptions. To avoid repetition, the book lists such prescriptions only under the specific condition they treat. If a reader searches for a prescription by another condition it treats, they may not find it in the index. To address this issue and facilitate easier retrieval, the revised edition has added a Condition Name Index. This allows readers to locate all prescriptions for a specific condition by referring to the page numbers and formula numbers listed in the index.
