Features: This volume includes important works of Comrade Deng Xiaoping from September 1982 to February 1992, compiled as Volume 3 of Selected Works of Deng Xiaoping. The two previously published volumes will be renamed Volume 1 and Volume 2, respectively, in their second editions. Volume 3 of the Selected Works contains 119 speeches, dialogues, and other works. A significant portion has not been previously. Many of the works, which were previously published in pamphlets such as Socialism with Chinese Characteristics (Revised Edition) and Important Talks by Comrade Deng Xiaoping (February-July 1987), were further edited and supplemented with additional content based on records during this compilation. This volume begins with the last piece from the previous Selected Works (1975–1982), Opening Speech at the Twelfth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, as its opening chapter and concludes with Key Points of Talks in Wuchang, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, and Shanghai (January 18–February 21, 1992).
