It accurately targets key points of the college entrance examination, conveys test information, and strives to create a high-quality book. Reviewed by experts from the Ministry of Education's curriculum standards development team. High in conception, strong in targeting, aiming for high scores and high competence This series is a set of books designed to guide the review and preparation for new question types following the release of the college entrance examination syllabus. It is highly targeted, combining specialized training with simulated test papers to broaden thinking, provide insights into techniques, strengthen practice, and focus on practical results. It proceeds cautiously, making teaching easy to grasp without disrupting the current college entrance examination review process. Presented in the form of thematic training, it allows teachers and students to review for the exam in a natural and smooth manner, grasping the overall trend of test setting and leading the direction of review and preparation. Regarding the scoring of new question types, we believe: First, the score for each sub-item of the new question types should be no less than 2 points. Second, the proportion of new question types in the exam paper is not specified in the syllabus. We have designed four forms with scores of 10 points, 8 points, 6 points, and 4 points, which will help students tackle them with ease. Additionally, for reducing the scoring of certain question types, we can design multiple plans: Plan 1: Reduce the scoring of Cloze tests. In line with the development trend of international language testing, Cloze tests are no longer used in many large-scale international English proficiency exams. However, in the national exam paper and many local exam papers, Cloze tests still account for 30 points, representing one-fifth of the total exam paper score. Therefore, the scoring of Cloze tests in the college entrance examination paper should gradually be reduced. At the same time, the new question type of Reading Cloze also belongs to fill-in-the-blank questions. Therefore, increasing the scoring of Reading Cloze, which directly assesses language, while reducing the scoring of Cloze tests, which indirectly assesses it, is also reasonable. For this reason, we have designed simulated test papers with reduced scoring for Cloze tests. However, the number of Cloze test questions in the exam paper has not been reduced; instead, the difficulty of Cloze tests has been lowered to ensure that the scoring is proportional to the difficulty. Plan 2: Reduce the scoring of Reading Comprehension. This new question type is essentially a new type of Reading Comprehension. Therefore, the additional points can come from Reading Comprehension, as both assess the same ability requirements. As a result, we have designed simulated test papers with reduced scoring for Reading Comprehension questions by 8 points, 6 points, and 4 points. Of course, we can also design the following forms: reducing the scoring of Listening by 10 points, reducing the scoring of Writing by 5 points, etc. However, we have not designed the latter two plans in this set of exam papers, merely proposing them for reference. Of course, the new question types provided in the Exam Syllabus are not mandatory, and whether local areas use new question types should be determined based on local circumstances. We believe that whether the final scoring of new question types in the college entrance examination paper is high or low, or which question type has its scoring reduced, it is not important. The key is that we must acquire the language required by the new question types. We believe that this book will not only comprehensively improve students' ability to solve new question types but also profoundly enhance their ability to comprehend reading materials and obtain information, whether directly or indirectly.
