Features: In May 2004, the Law School of Peking University celebrated its centennial, marking 100 years of modern legal education in China. To commemorate the centennial of the Law School of Peking University and the 100th anniversary of modern legal education in China, the Law School of Peking University organized the "Centennial Academic Forum of the Law School of Peking University" from December 2003 to May 2004. The "Academic Forum on Criminal Policy and Criminal Integration" held on December 20-21, 2003, was the opening of this event. Over the two-day academic discussion, more than 100 scholars from institutions such as Peking University, Renmin University of China, Tsinghua University, Wuhan University, Jilin University, China University of Political Science and Law, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, East China University of Political Science and Law, Northwest University of Political Science and Law, the Institute of Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuratorate, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Ministry of Justice discussed cutting-edge criminal science topics such as "criminal integration," "basic theories of criminal policy," and "reconstruction of the theoretical system of criminal law." Professor Chu Huazhi conducted thematic discussions on the "reconstruction of the theoretical system of criminal law," which he advocates and which carries a uniquely personal label. This anthology collects the academic papers submitted by scholars who participated in the forum. It is worth noting that nearly 70 academic papers were submitted by attendees, totaling 1.2 million words.
