Features: The Three-Character Classic is one of the most widely disseminated and influential primary education texts in China. Like many ancient Chinese books, the Three-Character Classic has undergone revisions and adaptations in various historical periods since its inception, resulting in multiple versions to this day. Through research, discussion, and the accumulated wisdom of predecessors, we have adopted the "Song Edition," which is known for its complete content and widespread circulation. This text quickly gained popularity and was continuously supplemented and revised by scholars in subsequent dynasties after the Song Dynasty, with additions of historical summaries from the Song Dynasty onwards. It was not until the Republican era that the current widely accepted version took shape. Due to its immense influence in China, the Three-Character Classic has been hailed as the "Marvelous Book of All Ages" and the "Comprehensive Mirror in the Pocket," and it has been translated into multiple languages and published abroad. In recent years, UNESCO has even included the Three-Character Classic in its recommended reading list for children's moral education. The reasons why the Three-Character Classic is regarded as the foremost primary education text in China are twofold: first, its elegant structure—three-character lines that are easy to recite and memorize for children; and second, its rich content, which condenses a vast amount of cultural knowledge and ethical teachings that children must learn into a relatively short text. While the content, particularly the "Three Cardinal Guides and Five Constant Virtues" and the emphasis on studying and becoming an official, carries strong feudalistic overtones, most of it still holds positive significance today. As for the historical, geographical, social, and cultural knowledge that many Chinese people should be familiar with, it remains a valuable supplement to modern children's education.
