Features: It is very difficult to explain things like electron spin and proton decay, which are of little interest to general readers, but this book succeeds in doing so. It is a highly readable book that offers excellent insights into theoretical particle physics and related disciplines—such as theoretical cosmology. The idea that physical quantities do not possess any actual reality until they are measured greatly offended Einstein's view of how physics should work, leading him to ask the physicist Abraham Pais once with a hint of sadness whether he "really believed the moon only existed when you looked at it." It is not an easy question to answer.
