Features: Communication is an activity that humans engage in every day, and the media serve as a platform for expressing thoughts. We cannot imagine a world without communication or without media. Communication coexists with humanity, bringing it immense benefits and advantages, but also many troubles and confusions. As a newly emerging discipline within the humanities and social sciences, the study of communication has only been a focus of attention and research for a few decades. The discipline of communication in China, as a secondary discipline under the umbrella of Chinese journalism and communication studies, has rapidly developed since the implementation of China's reform and opening-up policy. As an emerging discipline, communication studies are internally inclusive of journalism and externally intersecting and permeating with disciplines such as sociology and psychology. Research in communication studies, including fundamental theoretical research and media economics, has become a hot topic for scholars. This book aims to provide information for cultural reflection. We know how difficult this task is, but we are willing to pioneer a new frontier in the face of challenges. As a platform for scholars and experts, this book will explore, discover, debate, and engage in criticism and counter-criticism. Criticism (or judgment) is the bridge to truth, and the more thorough the criticism, the closer we get to the truth. The purpose of this book is: academic freedom, a hundred flowers in bloom, upholding truth, and embracing paradoxes.
