Features: Joining APEC was a historic choice for China to expand reform and opening-up, actively participate in the process of globalization, and integrate into regional economic integration. Over the past decade, APEC has served as a unique stage for China to conduct summit diplomacy, neighborhood diplomacy, and economic diplomacy. It has played a positive role in strengthening China's economic ties with other APEC members and promoting mutual and beneficial cooperation among all parties. In the process of foreign exchanges and international cooperation, the government's foreign policy decisions have been strongly supported by domestic academic institutions. Academic institutions and universities across the country have provided a large number of scientific and objective consulting reports and research findings to China's foreign affairs departments, and have proposed many valuable policy recommendations. Recently, the APEC Research Center at Nankai University organized scholars in relevant fields to conduct in-depth research on several major issues in the development process of APEC and wrote nine monographs. These academic achievements, starting from a theoretical perspective and combining APEC cooperation practices and China's participation in cooperation, analyze and explore the challenges and opportunities APEC faces in the new historical period. They propose suggestions on how China can more deeply participate in the cooperation process, and have high research and reference value.
