Features: The sixteen topics of this tutorial match the main textbook Practical English Translation for Level 3, divided into sixteen units. The content includes tourism, ecotourism, economy, history, sports, agriculture, industry, diplomacy, international relations, health, education, culture, environment, environmental protection, and high technology, covering a wide range of subjects and aspects of social life. Each topic features content that is completely different from the main textbook to expand students' practice. Each unit of this tutorial includes two English-to-Chinese and two Chinese-to-English translation exercises, with each exercise ranging in length from 250 to 300 words to facilitate classroom teaching arrangements and translation reviews. After each exercise, there are provided with translations and analyses. Additionally, it includes introductions to English-Chinese and Chinese-English translation techniques, vocabulary expansion, and unit tests. One of the key features of this book is that it offers multiple translation options and provides detailed micro-level analyses of the translations. In the process of translation practice and teaching, the editors found that English-to-Chinese translation errors often stem from inappropriate word choices and inaccurate understanding of English long sentences, while Chinese-to-English translation is fraught with pitfalls, ranging from the omission of articles to disorganized sentence structures and unclear logic. Errors vary widely, and students indeed have many weaknesses in Chinese-to-English translation methods and techniques. To improve students' language skills and translation abilities, the author sometimes provides multiple translations in parentheses. Comparing and analyzing different translations helps readers broaden their perspectives, understand the characteristics of Eastern and Western languages, and enhance the flexibility and accuracy of their translations. Given that most readers have weaker Chinese-to-English translation skills, this tutorial provides more alternative translations in the Chinese-to-English section. Additionally, since readers preparing for the Level 3 exam have already reached a certain level of English proficiency, the book does not provide detailed explanations of some simple translation techniques but focuses on more challenging or easily overlooked aspects where readers are prone to mistakes.
