Features: The Children's Piano Tutor is primarily designed for young beginners. Its original edition, first published in 1983, has sold over 84,1,40 copies to date. It has gained popularity among piano teachers due to its strong child-friendly appeal and a relatively scientific approach to entry-level learning. It demonstrates unique charm in cultivating children's understanding and love for their own national musical language, while also opening a window for children from other countries to explore the musical language of the Chinese nation.
To further refine the tutor, we have collected feedback from teachers, children, and parents and actively revised it. These improvements include dividing the material into two volumes, adjusting and aligning the learning progression, revising some original pieces, and adding new ones. The greatest strength of this tutor lies in its grasp of children's psychology and age characteristics, enabling them to learn music knowledge and play the piano in a relaxed, enjoyable, and lively environment. At the same time, it helps children become familiar with their own national musical language from a young age and closely integrates piano teaching with moral education.
In terms of technical training, it is comprehensive, systematic, and progressive. In terms of teaching methods, the book draws on advanced international experiences while also showcasing originality. This has resulted in a piano tutor that is both uniquely Chinese and scientifically sound, making it easily accessible to young learners. Over the past decade, teaching practice has proven it to be an excellent piano tutor.
In our piano teaching for beginners, we cannot rely solely on foreign materials. China should have an entry-level tutor that aligns with its national context, and this is precisely the significance of this tutor. The publication of the revised edition has made this tutor even more perfect.
