Modern Asthmaology

Author: Lin Yaoguang, Editor-in-Chief

Publish Date: 2004-08-01
Features: In the various fields of respiratory medicine, bronchial asthma has been the most extensively studied and has achieved the most prominent results, forming a relatively independent discipline known as "asthmaology." The development of asthmaology has driven advancements in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), respiratory physiology, and pulmonary function. It also contributes to a broader field of airway diseases characterized by "respiration," particularly obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS). The author has been a doctor for over 40 years and has treated many asthma patients. In clinical practice, he deeply feels that truly standardized asthma treatment is not easy, placing very high demands on doctors. Doctors must understand the origins of asthma, its typical and atypical manifestations, how to diagnose asthma and determine its severity, and how to treat it most effectively. These are the four parts of this book. The concept of this book strives to closely integrate theory with clinical application, enabling young doctors to understand how to treat asthma patients and why. However, this book is not comprehensive. The author lacks experience in treating pediatric asthma and therefore avoids delving too deeply into it, reducing the coverage of some topics with limited practical value.
