Sempé was originally a skilled cartoonist before specializing in writing comic scripts. As a master cartoonist, Sempé enjoys worldwide acclaim. The collaboration of these two exceptional talents makes the book truly remarkable. Opening The Adventures of Nicolas, you'll burst into laughter, and after the laughter, you can't help but admire: it is indeed a classic work, born from the pens of the 20th century's most outstanding humorist, Sempé and Goscinny, that has endured for half a century and influenced generations of readers. The author accurately captures the clever minds, whimsical ideas, and even pranks of "naughty boys," depicting them with unrestrained freedom; for the rich and amusing stories of children in real life, she gives her full attention to revealing and understanding them, profoundly expressing her love and tolerance for children. When a book truly captivates you, making you feel from the inside that it is wonderful, you often focus only on your own experience and overlook its writing techniques. The Adventures of Nicolas is exactly like that—it is a book that brings joy and laughter, making both children and adults happy and amused. It is an easy-to-read and hilarious book, and its special talent lies in finding it again when you're bored and rereading it every time as if you've never seen it before. You'll still be drawn in, still laughing heartily with each reading.
