To save space, this series uses abbreviations for auction companies, such as "China" referring to "China International Auction Company," etc. The units of currency mentioned in the book are "ten thousand yuan," and the units of dimensions are "centimeters," and so on, without listing them all. Please note.
Ming and Qing dynasty bronze Buddha statues are part of Buddhist sculpture art. During the Ming Dynasty, due to the widespread construction of temples, the needs of offerings, and the imperial court's donations to religious leaders, bronze sculptures rapidly developed and reached their highest artistic level during the Yongle and Xuanzhe reigns, known as the "Yongxuan Bronze Sculptures." At this time, the faces of the statues were full, the shapes were exquisite, the gold color was rich, and the artistic level was extremely high. The Qing Dynasty inherited the Ming Dynasty's style, with meticulous craftsmanship, marking the peak period of Tibetan-style bronze sculptures. Today, these statues are not only objects of worship for Buddhists but also precious national artistic heritage, cherished by collectors both at home and abroad. The author of this book has compiled it using rich materials from museums and the, providing a detailed account of the development history of Ming and Qing dynasty bronze Buddha statues, as well as common knowledge of collecting, investment analysis, and appraisal of bronze Buddha statues. The book includes over 100 color illustrations, introducing the auction information, common analysis, and comments on over 100 different statues.
