Features: This book uses popular descriptive language to comprehensively introduce common psychological diseases, abnormalities, and disorders in families, along with their diagnosis and treatment, enabling families to understand essential psychological knowledge and resolve potential psychological issues within members. With rapid technological advancement, societal changes, increasing material wealth, and intensifying interpersonal competition, the cost of living and pace of life have accelerated. These changes have altered people's lifestyles and family structures, shifting from complex to simple, restrictive to free, multifaceted to singular, and stable to fragile. As a result, psychological conflicts among family members have multiplied, and clashes in life philosophies have grown sharper, leading to the emergence and escalation of various family psychological problems. Thus—some children become distorted favorites due to an unbalanced upbringing, exhibiting stubbornness, extreme fragility, violent behavior, or even mild mental retardation, leaving people sighing in sorrow and reflection; some couples face constant conflicts and disagreements—about sex, love, or even money—leading to a breakdown in marital harmony and the erosion of a warm home; some elderly people experience years of torment, besieged by loneliness, boredom, disappointment, and worry, turning their golden years into a season of misery and transforming their pastoral dreams into a scent of death. Additionally, issues like divorce, widowhood, remarriage, cohabitation, single-parent families, and illegitimate children—aren't these problems at the fringes of families becoming increasingly "prevalent"? Given all this, can modern families truly benefit from the care and attention of psychologists? The answer is self-evident. The book was written to provide care and support for those struggling and suffering in family conflicts. Marriage and family forms based on love are a manifestation of human civilization, and the family has become one of the most important social organizations in human life. This book serves as an applied guide to understanding and resolving family psychological conflicts, offering a comprehensive examination of psychological issues across various aspects of family life and multiple stages of life. It includes seven chapters:
Chapter 1: Family Psychology
This chapter discusses the current state of psychological diseases, the influence of the family on psychology, and the cultivation of healthy family psychology, setting the foundation for the entire book and opening readers' doors to basic family psychological knowledge.
Chapter 2: Child Psychology
Based on children's psychological characteristics, this section introduces common psychological disorders in children, such as behavioral disorders, conduct disorders, learning disabilities, eating disorders, sleep disorders, and pathological tendencies.
Chapter 3: Adolescent Psychology
Adolescence is a critical transitional period, where psychological development rapidly approaches maturity but has not yet fully reached it. The development of self-awareness is fraught with contradictions, and the incidence of psychological diseases is relatively high. This chapter covers adolescent personality disorders, learning adjustment disorders, interpersonal communication disorders, love-related psychological disorders, and sexual psychological disorders.
Chapter 4: Female Psychology
Due to unique physiological changes, women experience specific psychological disorders at each stage of their lives. This chapter focuses on female psychological characteristics, discussing occupational psychology, sexual psychology, and common neuroses.
Chapter 5: Male Psychology
Men, due to their distinct social and family roles, often face high expectations and immense pressure, placing them in a state of psychological overload. This chapter explores male occupational psychological disorders, sexual psychological disorders, midlife dilemmas, and pathological addictions, examining psychological issues from a gender perspective.
Chapter 6: Spousal Psychology
Marriage is both a behavioral and social act, and the relationship between spouses is the most delicate of all interpersonal relationships. When well-managed, it blooms as the most beautiful flower in the world; when neglected, it becomes the most desolate grave. This chapter focuses on marital psychological disorders and sexual psychological disorders between spouses.
Chapter 7: Elderly Psychology
As people enter old age, their physiological functions deteriorate rapidly, leading to significant changes in other aspects, including psychology. This chapter addresses a series of psychological conflicts and disorders, such as emotional disorders, sleep disorders, perceptual disorders, and even mental illnesses.
The over 100 case studies selected in the book are vivid and typical, with clear descriptions of psychological disorder symptoms, concise analyses of causes, and detailed, practical intervention and treatment plans. All these efforts aim to make readers feel as though they are having a conversation with a psychologist, helping them resolve psychological conflicts, alleviate crises, reduce stress, and escape psychological dilemmas.
If a person has a deep understanding of psychology, they are often better equipped to discern their own inner needs, comprehend the characteristics and layers of their psychological issues, and even identify their underlying causes. To some extent, they can take preventive and self-treatment measures, achieving a state of physical and mental fulfillment.
