Features: This series of books is characterized by authority, intellectual depth, and practicality:
1. Authority. The main authors of each book are the current deans and deputy deans of business schools (management colleges) at renowned domestic universities. In addition to solid theoretical foundations, these authors possess strong academic influence in their respective fields and the MBA education community. Moreover, they have long adhered to case-based teaching in their respective institutions, and their courses are widely popular at their schools.
2. Intellectual Depth. Successful case teaching must be intellectually rigorous. The case commentaries in this series incorporate both theoretical foundations related to the content and the rich intellectual insights demonstrated by each author in applying theories to analysis.
3. Practicality. This series is highly practical. Each book can be used independently for case teaching or combined with relevant textbooks for use. It can serve as teaching material for both MBA and EMBA programs, as well as for specialized training for senior corporate executives. We believe the publication of this series will play a positive role in advancing case teaching for MBAs in China.
In this book, our commentaries cover strategic business practices of over 20 organizations. The cases span both Chinese and foreign enterprises and essentially cover the content of MBA strategic management courses. The cases primarily draw from existing relevant references, with a few based on first-hand materials. Our focus is on providing "lesson-plan-style" commentaries for each case, aiming to expand the knowledge capacity of strategic management and create a "learning through reading" experience for readers. It is worth noting that, given that China's economic reform is currently in a special phase of corporate governance, we have included case studies on corporate governance at the strategic level in the material organization. Notably, there is a comprehensive case study on how General Motors Company gradually made corporate governance a strategic choice during its growth and development process.
