Features: During the process of learning seal carving, I deeply felt that for those with limited knowledge of ancient Chinese calligraphy, looking up the forms of seal characters is a challenging task. To determine the basic form and variations of a character, one often has to go through great lengths. At this point, I conceived a wish: to compile the Great Seal, Small Seal, and Miao Seal forms of commonly used seal characters along with their basic shapes into one book, for the use of beginners in seal carving. Therefore, I organized the notes I had accumulated over the years of looking up characters, forming the manuscript of this book. The book contains 5,000 single characters, divided into standard characters and variant characters. Under each standard character, the forms of Small Seal, Great Seal, and Miao Seal are listed in sequence, arranged according to the Kangxi Dictionary's radical indexing method.
